We were honoured to welcome our patron HRH The Princess Royal to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Wednesday 20 April to celebrate her appointment as Patron for Foundation for Future London.

The Princess Royal was welcomed to the Park by HM Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, Mr Kenneth Olisa OBE, and Sir William Castell, LVO, Chairman of the Foundation for FutureLondon, after which she was met with children from Gainsborough Primary School and talked through design plans for Olympicopolis with architects, Allies & Morrison.

A reception was held at the ArcelorMittal Orbit, where HRH met with key partners involved with the development. She was treated to a performance by dancer's from Sadler's Wells, and spoke to UAL London College of Fashion students about their innovative designs.

The visit closed with a short speech by Princess Anne, in which she noted her gratitude to the Olympic partners involved for their “long-term vision” in bringing economic and social benefits to the Stratford area.

Sir William Castell said: “We are delighted to be working with Her Royal Highness to deliver the fullest Olympic legacy ever achieved.”
